About the CIPD

The Chartered Management Institute was awarded the Royal Charter in 2002. and the concept of 'Chartered Manager' was launched and the Institute's management qualifications were recognised as part of the UK's National Qualification s Framework for Higher Education.

Good management makes a vital contribution to business success and to the delivery of public services. The need for people with excellent management and leadership skills is increasingly recognised by organisations in all sectors. The Institute is committed to improving the professionalism of management through the lifelong development and support of managers and works with a wide range of stakeholders in support pf this objective.
